4 habits that cause anxiety and stress

According to the current estimate, 40 million adults are suffering from anxiety and stress. Most of the people in the world are suffering from anxiety but many of them are unaware of what’s going on and how to treat this condition.

No person wants to start their day, begin with anxiety and stress but there are few things in our routine that make our anxiety worse. Most of us even don’t bother to determine those habits that are actually causing the problem which results in an increase in anxiety, which leads us toward negative thoughts. It is important for a person to monitor their daily habits and identify the bad habits that are amping up their stress level and replace them with healthy habits in order to live a happy, healthy, and stress-free life.There are a few most common bad habits that are unfortunately part of most of our routines and are the reason for anxiety. If you still find out that you are suffering from anxiety then you should seek professional help without any shame and hesitation.

1) Irregular sleeping pattern

One of the major causes of anxiety is having an irregular sleeping pattern, not having enough sleep increases the stress level. Individuals who are suffering from sleeping problems like insomnia and others can relate to how stressful things get for them. The simple solution to this problem is to skip on your technology at least 1 hour before your bedtime, try to sip on a nice herbal tea blend, or write in a journal.

2) Excessive amount of coffee

Coffee is best known for boosting energy and its other health benefits,but we forget that everything that comes with benefits has also some drawbacks to them. Consuming a high amount of caffeine can result in symptoms like an increase in heart rate, restlessness, and nervousness etc, that are similar to anxiety symptoms. Many of us like to start our morning with a dose of caffeine in order to get going, but we should try to switch towards more healthy option which has less caffeine.

3) Skipping meals

Most of us think it’s okay to skip their meals if they are on a weight loss journey, in a rush, or to save money, etc. But we forget that by skipping meals we are actually disturbing the sugar level of our blood which causes some serious mood swings and an increase in anxiety level which doesn’t sound a great idea, right?. Make sure to have clean and nutritious meals consistently to control your anxiety condition. There are some great and easy meal options that you can have on the go without the need of skipping the meals.

4) Spending too much time on Social Media

We all want to spend most of our spare time on social media at the cost of our mental health. Everything we see on social media looks like a dream due to which we end up comparing ourselves with someone else life and achievements. What we forget is that social media covers the reality and the hard work that is done backend to achieve those results. Social media is counted as the major cause for amping up the anxiety and stress level, here’s how. We go on social platforms like Facebook & Instagram for a minute or so to catch up on updates while we end up wasting our 2,3 hours scrolling and getting demotivated and hopeless. Keep in your mind that you should not spend more than 15 minutes on social media and try to engage your spare time in other activities like reading, physical games, etc.

By replacing these bad habits with good habits can actually help you out with your anxiety level and can make things easy for you.
